The year was 1972. Richard Nixon was president, the Watergate scandal was in full swing, the price of a first class stamp was 8 cents and a gallon of gas set you back a whopping 30 cents. What better time to open a printing company.
"Our first location was 100 N. Classen. It was 1200 square feet and seemed perfect at the time. Back then we printed on anything and everything - literally. Our slogan was "We print on most any surface". We printed safety signs, t-shirts, bumper stickers you name it. I did the art by day and the printing by night. My first t-shirt dryer was made from washing machine parts! It wasn't until 1975 that I purchased a "real" dryer. It set us back $1600, which was a lot of money then. We used to stretch the screens by hand and print using a hand held squeegee. How times have changed.”
While the way we do certain things have changed at S&S the commitment to provide first class service and exceptional printing is still the same. What started in a small shop has now blossomed into a 50,000 square foot state of the art facility. I invite you to call us and allow us the opportunity to help you with your point-of-purchase needs.
